How was the election decided? On November 15, Rebecca had narrowed Baker’s lead to 159 votes. When almost a week’s worth of votes from Contra Costa County were counted on November 16, Rebecca was ahead by 2,170 votes! That afternoon, Assemblymember Baker phoned Rebecca to concede the race.
