Since the election, the Southern Poverty Law Center has reported an increase in the number of hate crimes You have probably read about the unusual increase of these incidences in our Contra Costa County. Even at two of our local SRVUSD high schools, there has been racist graffiti. What will be our response? What can we, as citizens, do to improve the situation?

Our school district panelists will give examples of how our school district has responded with “No Place For Hate” educational experiences. Other panelists will give examples of how to respond when we as citizens hear or see bigoted behavior. For example, how we can deflect it, or say things that affirm our own morality but in a non-threatening way.
