End of Summer Bash September 28, 2019 was a Success!

IMG_4046The San Ramon Valley Democratic Club’s End of Summer Bash was Saturday, September 28 was a success!. There were 15 speakers – elected officials and community leaders.

It was also a #LoveRBK day, as at least 7 speakers called out a grateful “Thank You” to Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan for her support of their legislation.

Each speaker was great, actually they were wonderful, because each speaker had taken the time to plan their speech to reveal some important new information, either about legislation, ballot measures, how to get involved. And each speaker was very passionate and spoke from his or her heart. It was an amazing day. Thank you to our speakers who made it a success:

Rebecca Bauer-Kahan, Assemblymember
Marisol Rubio, Candidate for State Senate District 7
Sabina Zafar, San Ramon City Council Member
Phil O’Loane, San Ramon City Council Member
Rachel Hurd, San Ramon Valley Unified School District Board Member
Beverly Lane, East Bay Regional Parks District

Maria Alegria, Democratic Party of Contra Costa County Chair

Ted Clement, Save Mt. Diablo
Gail Murray, League of Women Voters, Diablo Valley Chapter

Thank you Richard Adler for having this event at your lovely home. You are a wonderful host, and we appreciate you!

Another wonderful thing that happened is that activist Karen Beck connected with Jackie Moreau, leader of Commit To Flip Blue. And Karen agreed to have letter writing and phone banking at her home in Danville! Now we have a local place to help Democratic Congressional candidates win in red states!

Candidate for State Senate District 7 Marisol Rubio demonstrated to us why she would be a great Senator. SRVDC President Brodie Hilp reminded everyone that when a pledge was offered to each candidate – Steve Glazer and Marisol, only Marisol signed that pledge not to accept money from oil and gas companies.

IMG_4142One FUN thing we did: We raffled a Supreme Court Female Justices t-shirt. What was so amazing, Tammy Raizes had just told me that day how she recently went to the Ruth Bader Ginsburg Museum in Los Angeles at the Skirball Cultural Center. And she was the one who won the t-shirt!
