Shonkoff has presented information about fracking many times with a great PowerPoint presentation. He will explain everything you wanted to know about fracking. You will want to bring your friends to this one!
Shonkoff has a Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Policy, and Management, and a Master in Public Health in Epidemiology, both from the University of California, Berkeley. For more information about his background and research, visit Seth’s web page at UC Berkeley.
Seth Shonkoff is the Executive Director of Physicians, Scientists and Engineers For a Healthy Energy at UC Berkeley. He does research on hydraulic fracturing to assess the health and climate dimensions of shale gas and shale oil, predominantly in the United States. He has two primary foci in this work: 1) the environmental public health dimensions of shale gas and oil production (air quality, water quality); and 2) the distribution of well densities and environmental public health protections across socioeconomic space. His work is focused mostly in Pennsylvania, New York, and California.
