Help President Obama get his Tax bill passed! Join the Central Contra Costa and Tri-Valley MoveOn Councils on this Fiscal Showdown National Day of Action. We’ll be showing support for President Obama and our legislators as the nation approaches the FISCAL CLIFF. Our message is “Hang tough, Mr. President. We have your back.”
We’ll have the President arriving from uphigh by helium balloons and then speaking in front of a cliff. Mr. 2% will be doing his best to draw the attention away from the President. We’ll also have our guitarist and singer, Michael Sullivan, leading us in “Who’s Afraid of the Fiscal Myth.” Representatives from Congressman Garamendi’s and Congressman Miller’s offices will speak to the importance of raising the tax rates for the top 2% and not touching the benefits of Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. A patriotic theme with Uncle Sam hats, flags and signs will add to the day. We invite the general public to speak about the effect if changes were to happen in the three programs mentioned. A petition will be circulated and delivered to Congressman Garamendi’s office.
The more of us the more powerful the message. We were an important part of the team that helped the President and a number of Progressives win the election. Let’s make sure they stand strong. Join us and let’s keep making a difference!
