The San Ramon Valley Democratic Club is pleased to welcome Ratha Lai from Sierra Club to explain Contra Costa County’s plan to develop its own Community Choice Aggregation. What does that mean? How would it work? What has been agreed to so far?

Ratha Lai is a Conservation Program Coordinator at Sierra Club, Berkeley. He advocates for proposed legislation involving conservation programs, by informing and communicating with elected officials, business leaders, governmental agencies, and other non profit organizations. Prior to the Sierra Club, Ratha was a Field Manager at the Greenlining Institute. He received his B.A. from University of California, Berkeley in 2012.

We also welcome Cynthia Mahoney, who as a member of Citizens Climate Lobby, will tell us about how a carbon tax is the best way to motivate us to move to renewable energy.
