Ro Khanna Book Diginity in a Digital AgeCongressman Ro Khanna spoke at our SRVDC meeting in 2014 when he first ran for Congress. He was elected in 2016 to Congressional District 17 which is Fremont down to San Jose. He has progressive values and states that he only accepts campaign donations from individuals. A few things he has done for climate change: signed onto the Green New Deal, cosponsored the PFAS Detection Act, and called for the creation of an infrastructure bank to finance high speed rail. He wrote the Internet Bill of Rights, advocated for a massive increase in funding for science, co-founded the No PAC Caucus, and co-chairs the Anti-Trust Caucus. Although he endorsed Bernie Sanders for President in 1916, as of October 2021, he has voted in line with Biden 100% of the time. It will interesting to hear what legislation he is currently proposing and supporting. Congressman Khanna received his BA in economics from U. of Chicago and his law degree from Yale.
