The San Ramon Valley Democratic Club welcomes Professor Zachary Price to learn about our partisan Congress and how it relates to the US Constitution. Come with all your questions.

A graduate of Stanford University and Harvard Law School, Professor Price teaches constitutional law and civil procedure at the University of California Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco. Professor Price’s research focuses on questions of constitutional structure. His interests include constitutional law, civil procedure, statutory interpretation, and federal Indian law. His articles include: Funding Restrictions and Separation of Powers, 71 Vanderbilt Law Review forthcoming in 2018; Reliance on Nonenforcement, in William & Mary Law Review (2017), which was selected for the 2016 Harvard-Yale-Stanford Junior Faculty Forum; Enforcement Discretion and Executive Duty, in Vanderbilt Law Review (2014); and Dividing Sovereignty in Tribal and Territorial Criminal Jurisdiction, in Columbia Law Review (2013).

Before entering academics, Professor Price served for three years as an attorney in the Office of Legal Counsel of the U.S. Justice Department. He has also worked as a litigator in private practice and clerked for Justice Anthony M. Kennedy of the U.S. Supreme Court, Judge David S. Tatel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, and Judge Catherine C. Blake of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. From 2012 to 2013, he was a fellow at the Stanford Constitutional Law Center
