The California Disclose Act, Assembly Bill 700
AB 700, the 2016 California DISCLOSE Act (Gomez-Levine), passed the Assembly and now goes to the State Senate. AB 700 would fight back against dark money and unlimited hidden spending on campaigns by replacing misleading fine print disclosures on ballot measure ads with a requirement to clearly and prominently disclose the top three ACTUAL funders — so people always know who’s trying to buy their vote.
